Everything you need to know about Tile
Tile repeats your image in a grid pattern, creating multiple identical copies arranged in rows and columns. Perfect for batch production of patches, tags, keychains, coasters, or any item you need to engrave in quantity on a single sheet.
Parameters
- Columns
Number of horizontal repetitions (1-20). Each column adds one copy of your image side by side. - Rows
Number of vertical repetitions (1-20). Each row adds one copy of your image stacked vertically. - Spacing
Gap between tiles in pixels (0-100). Use spacing to leave room for cut lines or to separate engravings on the material. - Draw Cut Lines
Draws thin black lines between tiles to serve as cutting guides for your laser. The lines are placed in the center of the spacing area. Requires spacing > 0.
Tips
- Prepare your single image first (resize, adjust, dither) then tile as the last step
- Add spacing of 2-5px to leave room for laser cut lines between items
- The output image size = (image width x columns) + (spacing x (columns-1)), same for height
- For large grids, make sure your laser software can handle the resulting file size
