Everything you need to know about Monogram Generator

Build a laser-ready split-letter monogram: a large initial with a horizontal band, a name written in the band, and optional decorative engrave fill. Export as a clean vector SVG (separate cut / engrave / backplate layers) or place the result into the editor as an image.

Basics

  • Name – the text in the band; the big letter follows its first initial unless you type your own.
  • Just the name – skip the big letter, band the name only.
  • Multiple names – e.g. “Bruce Jess” → B + J, joined, side by side or stacked.

Separator lines

  • Vertical position, Line length, Line thickness of the band bars.

Add-ons

  • Keychain – a loop with a hole, positionable all around the outline (plus an optional second loop).
  • Backplate – a carrier plate offset behind the design.

Pattern & Fiber

  • Pattern fill – a tiled decorative engrave pattern, clipped to the piece, with an optional safety margin.
  • Fiber cut – replaces the cut line with a kerf-compensated offset-fill band (0.5 mm per 1 mm material) and exports at true mm size – import 1:1, don’t rescale.

Tips

  • If the warning says parts aren’t connected, a font has floating bits (an i-dot, a script flourish) that won’t cut as one piece – pick another font.
  • Script fonts make elegant names; bold serifs/slabs make sturdy big letters.
