Everything you need to know about Light Leak

Light Leak simulates the beautiful imperfections of analog film photography – those warm, glowing light bleeds caused by light seeping into the camera body. Add authentic retro character, dreamy sun flares, or colorful prismatic effects to give your images a nostalgic, cinematic feel.

Presets

  • Film Burn
Classic orange-red light leak from the corner, mimicking overexposed film edges.
  • Rainbow Prism
Colorful spectral bands like light passing through a prism or crystal.
  • Anamorphic Streak
Horizontal cyan-to-orange streak simulating anamorphic lens flares from cinema cameras.
  • Warm Sunburst
Radial golden rays emanating from a corner, like direct sunlight hitting the lens.
  • Cool Blue Leak
Soft blue glow from the edge, creating a cool, ethereal atmosphere.
  • Vintage Red
Deep red burn from the corner, reminiscent of aged or damaged film stock.
  • Dual Color
Pink and blue leaks from opposite sides for a stylized, contemporary look.
  • Film Edge
Warm orange glow along the top and bottom edges, simulating light leaking past the film gate.

Parameters

  • Intensity
Controls the brightness and visibility of the light leak effect. Low values (10–30%) add subtle warmth. High values (60–100%) create dramatic, saturated flares.
  • Rotation
Rotates the entire light leak pattern around the image center (0°–360°). Use this to position the leak where it looks most natural or intentional.
  • Scale
Adjusts the size of the light leak effect. Values below 100% create tighter, more concentrated leaks. Values above 100% spread the effect wider across the image.
