Everything you need to know about Comic
Comic transforms your photos into cartoon-style illustrations with bold outlines, posterized colors, and stylized shading. Choose from six distinct styles ranging from classic comic book looks to manga and anime aesthetics.
Styles
- Classic
Traditional comic book look with bold colors and strong black outlines. - Manga
Japanese black and white comic style with tonal shading and crisp ink lines. - Pop Art
Vivid, highly saturated colors inspired by Warhol and Lichtenstein. - Anime
Cel-shaded look with smooth color bands and softer outlines typical of Japanese animation. - Vintage
Muted, sepia-toned retro comic style with warm brown ink lines. - Graphic Novel
High contrast, desaturated look with heavy black outlines for dramatic storytelling.
Parameters
- Smoothing
Controls how much detail is simplified before applying the effect. Higher values (6–8) create cleaner, more stylized results. Lower values (2–3) preserve more texture and detail. - Color Levels
Sets how many distinct color steps are used (posterization). Fewer levels (4–6) create a bolder, more graphic look. More levels (10–12) retain subtle gradations. - Edge Strength
Controls the visibility and thickness of outlines. 0% removes outlines entirely. 100%+ creates thick, prominent black lines. - Edge Threshold
Sets the sensitivity for detecting edges. Lower values detect more edges (including fine details). Higher values only outline major shapes. - Saturation
Boosts or reduces color intensity. Values above 100% create vivid, punchy colors. Values below 100% produce more muted tones.
Tips
- Portraits work best with higher smoothing to simplify skin texture
- Use "Manga" style for dramatic black and white conversions
- Lower the edge threshold if you're missing important outlines
- For cleaner results, start with a high-resolution, well-lit photo
