Everything you need to know about Brightness
Brightness uniformly increases or decreases the lightness of your entire image. It adds or subtracts the same value from all pixels, making the image appear brighter or darker overall. A simple and essential adjustment for quick exposure corrections.
Parameters
- Brightness
Adjusts the overall lightness. Negative values (-1 to 0) darken the image. Positive values (0 to +1) brighten it. At 0, no change is applied. Extreme values can crush shadows to black or blow out highlights to white.
Tips
- Use small adjustments (±0.05 to ±0.15) for subtle corrections
- For underexposed photos, try combining with Contrast for better results
- If you need more control over highlights and shadows separately, use Levels or Curves instead
